With the Pompey faithful now more content with the knowledge that transfer season at Fratton Park is well and truly underway, here is the latest news from their soon-to-be Championship rivals...

Leeds star reveals Bundesliga interest

Leeds United star Archie Gray has admitted it would be ‘folly’ to ignore potential talks with Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund if they were to make a concrete offer, according to TEAMtalk.

Gray is only 18 but was one of Elland Road’s brightest sparks last campaign and his performances have seen him gain plenty of transfer interest. He did, however, sign a contract extension earlier this year which should see him remain with the Whites until 2028. That said, it could well have been merely a tactic from the Whites to drive their star’s transfer value up.

Indeed, Leeds are now in an exceptionally strong negotiating position which will be most welcome as interest from Dortmund, Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur has all been reported. It does seem, according to TEAMtalk however, that despite the rising interest the player’s family and agent would be happy for the youngster to remain at Elland Road.

It’s also noted that the winger’s family appreciate it would be foolish to turn down any talks with the Bundesliga side if they made a concrete move for the 18-year-old, and when considering the chance they took on Jude Bellingham, Gray’s family are aware it is an option that cannot be ignored.

La Liga giants surprise Hull City target

Barcelona are reportedly interested in signing the Hull City winger Jaden Philogene. According to journalist Jordi Cardero, via SportWitness, the Camp Nou side see Philogene as a ‘market opportunity’ partly due to him having some qualities they’ve been looking for.

It is also noted that he’s ‘capable of sinking the opponent and damaging them in small spaces.’ According to the report, Barcelona have been eyeing up the player ‘for months’ and he would be part of the club’s plan to sign young and relatively cheap players amid their ongoing financial difficulties.

The 22-year-old joined Hull City for around £4.8m from Aston Villa last summer and has gone on to produce 12 goals and six assists in 32 Championship appearances. He is now being valued by TransferMarkt at £12.7m and is currently on a contract that should see him remain with the Tigers until 2026.

It will remain to be seen how invested the La Liga side will be in securing a deal, especially as their spending power this summer will be significantly reduced.
