Report: Championship boss under growing pressure ahead of Portsmouth showdown
Pompey travel to Wolves in the Championship next Tuesday.
Wolves boss Cesar Peixoto is under growing pressure at Molineux, according to fresh reports.
The Portuguese boss has had a mixed start to life in the West Midlands since his controversial appointment in June, which has seen him pick up 14 points from the opening nine matches.
After Rob Edwards’ sacking at the end of last season, the 46-year-old was quickly installed in the Molineux hot-seat and subsequently led a squad overhaul in the summer.

But the Old Gold have struggled in recent weeks, winning just two of their previous six league matches, which has seen them drop out of the early-season play-off spots.
Wolves boss Cesar Peixoto ‘fighting for future’ ahead of Pompey game
Defeats to promotion rivals Middlesbrough and newly-promoted Bolton Wanderers since the international break have increased the pressure on Peixoto, who is believed to be ‘fighting for his future’ ahead of Pompey’s trip next Tuesday.
According to Football Insider, the former Porto and Benfica midfielder is under pressure to pick up results after a frustrating start to the campaign.
Wolves currently sit 10th in the Championship standings ahead of their game against Burnley on Friday night before welcoming John Mousinho’s troops next week in the twice-rearranged contest.
And after their 3-1 defeat to Bolton in midweek, Peixoto fronted the blame and took whole responsibility for the result.
He told the Express and Star: ‘I think we are all frustrated because of the result. I think we deserve more, we were the better team.
‘In the first 10 minutes, we conceded two chances to Bolton. After they scored, I think we dominated the game. We create a lot of chances, a lot of crosses, a lot of situations to score in the first half, in the second half, more.
‘We scored to make it 1-1 and after that we had two situations to score. I think the moment of the game is when Adam (Armstrong) shoots and the goalkeeper makes a great save.
‘The two times they go to our final third in the second half, they scored.
‘No, I don’t put the finger to any player. I’m the man responsible from this result.
‘The players put in a lot of effort to try to win. Adam works a lot for the team, wants to score more than me, you and everyone, for sure.
‘I think the goalkeeper made a good save, and we don’t score, but the person responsible for the result is me.’

Amid growing uncertainty on Peixoto’s future, Wolves will also be without key striker Raul Jimenez for Pompey’s visit next week.
The Mexico international, who scored three goals in this summer’s World Cup, collected four goal contributions in his six Championship appearances before his setback.
Peixoto will also likely be without wingers Rodrigo Gomez and Bertrand Traore for the Blues’ trip to Molineux next Tuesday.
