Portsmouth boss gunning to get ex-Premier League man's career 'back on track' after Luton arrival

The former Stoke man has joined on loan until the end of the season

John Mousinho believes Pompey can get former Premier League player Jacob Brown’s career ‘back on track’.

The 27-year-old has become the Blues’ fifth capture of the transfer window after joining on deadline day from Luton.

The loan move offers the former Stoke man the chance of regular first-team football after just eight appearances this season.

Brown, who can play across the front line, scored two Premier League goals and started 12 matches as the Hatters suffered relegation in 2023-24.

Now he has joined Kenilworth Road team-mate Millenic Alli at Fratton Park in a loan deal for the remainder of the season.

And Mousinho insists he is ‘excited’ about capturing the former Scotland international.

‘It’s probably been a difficult first half of the season for him at Luton, but he’s coming here looking to get back on track.

‘We feel that he bolsters us in any one of those positions across the front line, so it’s one that we’re really excited about.’

Brown has started three League One matches this season, although hasn’t been included in Luton’s squad for their last six matches.
