Latest headlines from around the Championship as one of Pompey’s rivals agree on a fee for a big transfer.

Pompey are growing in about retaining the services of club captain Marlon Pack.

Head coach John Mousinho told The News today that he expects a deal to be agreed soon with the players due back for pre-season in the next few weeks. The future of Pack's midfield partner Joe Morrell is uncertain however with Birmingham City, QPR and Wrexham all holding an interest.

Coventry City agree £4m deal for New Zealand star

Coventry City are poised to complete the signing of Red Star Belgrade midfielder Marko Stamenic. Football Insider is reporting that the Sky Blues have agreed a £4m deal to bring the New Zealand international to the Midlands.

Coventry have been long admirers of Stamenic and Nottingham Forest were believed to have held an interest in him, but it looks like Mark Robins has got his man. Stamenic played 35 times in all competitions last season as Red Star won the Serbian title. He has experience of playing in England after playing in a 3-1 defeat to Manchester City in the UEFA Champions League last season.

Leeds United receive transfer enquiry from Premier League club

Leeds United face a battle to keep hold of the Championship Player of the Year after receiving an enquiry from a Premier League club for Crysencio Summerville.

According to the DailyMail, Brighton & Hove Albion have ‘stepped up’ their interest by enquiring the Whites about the Netherlands under-21 international. Summerville got 20 goals and nine assists in 46 games for Leeds this season and is also wanted by Aston Villa and Crystal Palace. 

'Concrete interest' in Sunderland star

West Ham have 'concrete interest' in signing Sunderland star Jack Clarke. The Black Cats were unwilling to sell the 23-year-old mid-season but according to Football Insider are resigned to losing him because of the interest shown in him. 

Clarke is valued at £15m because he won the Player of the Year for his 15 goals and four assists. He is under contract at the Stadium of Light until the summer of 2026 and has apparently rejected a new deal. 

Hull City star ‘clinching’ move to Birmingham City

Hull City goalkeeper Ryan Allsop could be on his way out of the club if transfer reports are anything to go by. HullLive are reporting that Birmingham City are close to clinching a move for Allsop. The 32-year-old was at the heart of a tug-of-war between owner Acun Ilicali and former Tigers boss Liam Rosenior with the owner wanting him dropped amid a poor run of form.
