She said: ‘Internet safety is vital in this day and age for children. I am pleased that so many organisations are working together to help combat online issues that children face.

‘I recently visited Haselworth Primary School in Gosport to take part in their Google Internet Legends assembly teaching them about internet safety and I was encouraged at how engaged they were.’

The drop-in session was held ahead of a House of Comments debate on online abuse.
