A clever pooch has found a clever way to keep cool amid the scorching temperatures by paddle boarding with their owner.

Horatio, a seven-year-old Hungarian Vizsla, regularly goes paddle boarding with his owner Jason West by Clarence Pier in Southsea.

Horatio jumps off the board at regular moments to go for a swim. Temperatures across Portsmouth have reached the mid to high 20sC, with The Met Office and UK Health Security Agency issuing a joint heat health alert earlier this week.

Forecasts predict a few more days of glorious sunshine and baking heat, with temperatures due to reduce slightly closer to the weekend. Mr West has owned Hortio since he was a three-month-old puppy.
