With a new new Albanian restaurant opening in Portsmouth, we thought it was the perfect opportunity to go down and experience a new culture.

Kaltrina Azemi, the owner of Blue’s in Osborne Road, invited The News down to get a taste of the first Albanian and Kosovan restaurant in Portsmouth. I can’t claim to have too much knowledge of Albanian food but I am always up for trying new food and Kaltrina’s passion made me excited to experience it.

Four traditional dishes were recommended by Kaltrina which she prepared for us herself on a warm Southsea afternoon: A creamy pepper dish, an Albanian breakfast, a borek (homemade pastry with mince meat), and stuffed vine leaves.
