Jobs at risk in Portsmouth as Maplin is faced with closure
THOUSANDS of jobs are under threat today, with electronics company Maplin facing administration.
The retailer, which has a store in Fratton Road, Portsmouth, has failed to secure a takeover deal.
Insurers had been forced to cut credit cover last year, as the company’s profits plummeted.

Owned by Rutland Partners, Maplin had been put up for sale, but talks with a potential buyer broke down.
