But couples are getting creative when it comes to expressing their love for one another. The News asked our readers what their plans are for February 14 – with a wide variety of answers in response. Ladies man Terry Whenman said it will be a busy day for him, as he will have to ‘sort through all my mail and guess who they're from, just like any other St Valentine's Day’. Tracy Collingwood jokingly said: ‘I’m going to go to Paris, go up the Eiffel Tower, have dinner for two and go sightseeing – then take my virtual reality goggles off and go to bed.’ Rob Emery added: ‘Same as usual, I'll still send a card to myself.’ But spare a thought for reader Derek Priseman, from Portsmouth. He said his Valentine’s Day plans are the ‘same as last five years, nothing – lockdown has nothing to do with it, it’s just being single and not required or wanted’.
