More police to patrol Fareham town centre to tackle anti-social behaviour
Neighbourhood officers will bolster their presence in the town centre from today until December 24 to address issues flagged up by residents.Â
They will look to prevent begging, theft, shoplifting, drug-related crime and offences which breach Community Protection Notices.Â

The work over the next month '“ in partnership with Fareham Borough Council's Community Safety Team and Fareham StreetAid '“ will comprise day and night patrols in Fareham car parks, stop checks and referral of rough sleepers to local support and health services.
Chief inspector Sharon Woolrich said: '˜I'd encourage anyone who has encountered these types of issues in Fareham to speak to our officers while they are on patrol. This will help all the partner agencies involved to build a comprehensive picture of what is happening in the town centre.'Â
Patrols follow plans to lock Fareham car parks overnight.
