Man charged with shoplifting from Tesco, H&M, Sainsbury's, Poundland and Matalan in Portsmouth city centre

A MAN has been charged with shoplifting in connection with a spree of thefts from city centre stores.

While on patrol on the morning of Friday, December 2, officers from Portsmouth's City Centre Unit spotted and arrested a man who was wanted in connection with a number of shoplifting incidents.

Luke Rawson, 34, of Estella Road, Portsmouth, has been charged with six counts of theft from a shop in connection with the following thefts:

More than £200 of clothing from H&M on Commercial Road on August 5.

Coffee worth £178 from Sainsbury’s on Guildhall Walk on October 3.

Cleaning products worth more than £50 from Tesco Express on Isambard Brunel Road on October 8.

Various items worth £128 from Poundland on Commercial Road on October 23.

Clothing worth £330 from Matalan on Commercial Road on November 19.

Clothing worth £250 from H&M on Commercial Road on November 22.

Rawson was remanded into custody and due to appear at Portsmouth Magistrates Court late on December 2.
