'Large quantity' of crack cocaine drug wraps seized from man in Fareham following arrest for supply

POLICE have arrested a man after finding a ‘large quantity’ of drug wraps on him in Fareham.

The 40-year-old was stopped and searched near Maylings Farm Road on Friday.

He was detained by patrolling officers from the Fareham and Gosport high harm team at roughly 3pm, suspected of dealing Class A drugs.

A statement from Hampshire Constabulary said: ‘He was detained and taken back to the police station for a further search where officers seized a large quantity of drugs wraps, suspected to be crack cocaine.

‘The 40-year-old was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs.

‘He’s been bailed until 16 November while we progress the investigation.

‘The local neighbourhoods policing team, as well as the criminal investigation department (CID) are also involved in this work.

‘Please keep reporting any information or concerns regarding drug dealing in your area to us.

‘It allows us to make these sorts of arrests and get Class A drugs off the streets.’
