US Portsmouth just 90 minutes away from dream FA Youth Cup trip to Fratton Park to face Pompey Academy
But USP boss Danny Knight has warned his young guns to forget about the Blues and focus on a third round qualifying tie at Didcot Town on Monday. The winner of the tie has been given a massive incentive, knowing a first round proper glamour meeting with Pompey awaits.Knight admitted his squad - a number of whom are Fratton Park season-ticket holders - are in shock after the 'unbelievable' draw. But he acknowledged they still face a massive obstacle in Didcot before they can even begin thinking about taking on Pompey's bright young things.‘It’s unbelievable, our WhatsApp group has been going mad,' said Knight.‘It’s quite good actually because two of the lads that play for Pompey Academy played for us for a long time.‘All of our lads are all season-ticket holders and Pompey fans so it does not get any better really.'It’s almost like it’s meant to happen but we’re not getting too carried away, I’m sure Didcot are really good.‘It’s going to be tough.'We can’t take our eye off it but it does add a bit of excitement to the tie.‘We can’t look any further than Didcot.'But what more motivation do you need then Pompey in the next round?'
USP have already won through three rounds in the club's first ever Youth Cup campaign.
