The Falklands War was a conflict between Argentina and the United Kingdom, which lasted between April 2 and June 14, 1982.
To mark those who gallantly served our country, and their families, commemoration events will be taking place across Portsmouth and Hampshire.

Hide AdThis procession of events will mark the 40th anniversary of the conflict.
Current servicemen from the Royal Navy, British Army, and RAF, will be present at many of them.
Some of the commemorations have already started.
More than a 100 veterans gathered on the steps of the Guildhall to watch the stunning Beating Retreat display by the world-acclaimed Royal Marines Band.

Falklands heroes receive rousing welcome at Portsmouth Guildhall
Over 100 veterans gathered at the steps of the Guildhall yesterday to watch the stunning Beating Retreat display.
It was performed by the world-renowned Royal Marines Band, and some of the veterans were reduced to tears.
Falklands War Parade
Veterans of the conflict, from all branches of the military, are expected to join a parade in Old Portsmouth.
They will march through Broad Street, and up to the Falklands Memorial.
Organisers have hinted up to 800 people could be involved.
Portsmouth road closures this weekend
Many roads in Portsmouth will be closed to allow for Falklands War memorial events to take place.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson paid tribute to the ‘incredible daring and bravery’ of the Falklands War task force that departed from Portsmouth in 1982.
Veterans, civilians and bereaved family members attended a service in Staffordshire this week.
Youngest Commando In Falklands War Paid Tribute To Father
A Royal Marine, who the youngest Commando in the Falklands War, and who cheated death during the conflict, paid tribute to his father.
Ian Tennant hailed his dad as his ‘guardian angel’.
Mr Tennant was part of a small team of Marines embarked on Portsmouth-based destroyer HMS Antrim.
Falklands War Reflections By Commando Chaplain
in 1982, Rev Godfrey Hilliard was chaplain to 40 Commando, the Royal Marines who were among the first troops ashore on the Falkland Islands.
Falklands War Memorial Benches & Plaque Unveiled
Falklands veteran Barrie Jones, who organised fundraising for two memorial benches and a plaque, has unveiled them at The Square Tower, in Old Portsmouth, alongside councillor Steve Pitt.
Mr Jones said: ‘I’m proud as punch.’
