The Mighty Hood went down in just three minutes | Nostalgia
To the public HMS Hood, the last battlecruiser built for the Royal Navy, was invincible.
She remained the largest warship in the world for 20 years after her commissioning in 1920.
She sank in just three minutes on May 24, 1941, when a shell from the German battleship Bismarck exploded in her aft magazine.
There were 1,418 men on board, only three survived.
