Supermarkets support cake sale for QA Hospital
Staff from Waitrose in Waterlooville and Asda in Portsmouth held an Easter-themed cake sale and tombola.
Both stores also donated Easter eggs to be sold and to be given to the children being treated at the Cosham hospital.

Hide AdThe event raised £460 for the children’s A&E department.
Fiona Saunders, community champion for the Waitrose store, said: ‘As we have supported them before I was more than happy to use some of our partner volunteering hours to support our local hospital.’
Asda donated 100 pieces of cake and Natalie Oliver, from the store, said it was a superb cause to support.
She added: ‘I am more than happy to help to raise money for this department.’

Hide AdZoe Parton, play specialist for the children’s A&E department, organises cakes sales throughout the year to raise cash.
Previous fundraising has paid for toys, televisions and wall art to brighten up the area.
She was overjoyed when the supermarkets offered their help with her latest cake sale.
She said: ‘We were very pleased that both Waitrose and Asda were able to help support the bake sale not only by donating cakes and Easter eggs but also helping to sell the cakes.

Carly Snowdon, sister for the department, added: ‘It was wonderful that both stores were able to help support us, it means a lot to us that these teams are available for our community.
‘Fiona and Natalie were both a credit to their respective organisations and we would love to work with them again in the future.’
