College principals march for fairer funding
The event, which attracted more than 500 participants, was part of Love Our Colleges Week '“ a campaign aimed at promoting both the excellent work carried out by post 16 educators and raising the issue of real term funding cuts. The march was attended by Steve Frampton, former principal of Portsmouth College and now president of the Association of Colleges.
Mr Frampton said: '˜The Love Our Colleges campaign is asking for increased funding to make further education sustainable. For those who are concerned, we'd urge you to join the campaign and write to your MP - let them know that colleges are vital and ask them what they're doing to support them.'

Hide AdSupporting the march was Portsmouth South MP, Stephen Morgan.
'Our colleges are a credit to our city, and it was good to join heads today in Parliament Square to fight for their funding. Further education is key to the strength of our communities but it has seen budgets slashed by this Government. I have written to the Chancellor asking him to invest in our young people and raise funding by five per cent.'
