EXPERT judges from across the country gathered at Eastney College last week for the Great Hampshire Sausage and Pie Competition 2018.
Organised by Hampshire Fare, the event received a record-breaking 261 entries from 46 butchers. The twelve categories included pork sausage, speciality sausage, cold-eating pie, charcuterie and black pudding.
Judges assessed the entries on appearance, filling, texture, shrinkage, taste and smell. Entrants will have to wait until March 1 for the winners to be announced. The winners will be named at a ticketed event at Rownhams House and Gardens.
